  • 1982—Mark Dobbins establishes West Michigan Plumbing & Heating
  • 1982—Jerry Schauer joins West Michigan Heating & Plumbing, the company’s first employee
  • 1984 —Awarded mechanical systems project for Wolf Lake Fish Hatchery, adding industrial and commercial capabilities to company services
  • 1987—Enters additional East Coast markets in Rhode Island, Vermont, and Massachusetts
  • 1988—Selected to construct plumbing systems for Residence Inn, Sheldon, CT by general contractor MW Builders, Leewood, KS, launching company’s first foray into out-of-state markets
  • 1988—Full-time staffing reaches 25 employees
  • 1988—Enters California markets to construct earthquake-resistant systems for Marriott’s Residence Inns & Summerfield Suites
  • 1994—Full-time staffing surpasses 50 employees
  • 1995—Selected to construct mechanical and process piping systems for Disney’s Linen Facility, world’s largest linen facility and the largest industrial project for company to date
  • 1996—Awarded Disney Florida Beach Resort, Vero Beach, FL
  • 2003—Awarded $2.3 million contract for Stryker Medical, largest industrial project for company to date
  • 2005—West Michigan Plumbing & Heating is Renamed Contractors Mechanical
  • 2006—Contractors Mechanical awarded company’s largest single contract— $4.8 million project for Gull School District
  • 2007—Contractors Mechanical expands into new markets with West Virginia, Florida, and Mississippi projects
