first employee
- 1984 —Awarded mechanical systems project for Wolf Lake Fish Hatchery, adding
industrial and commercial capabilities to company services
- 1987—Enters additional East Coast markets in Rhode Island, Vermont, and Massachusetts
- 1988—Selected to construct plumbing systems for Residence Inn, Sheldon, CT
by general contractor MW Builders, Leewood, KS, launching company’s first foray
into out-of-state markets
- 1988—Full-time staffing reaches 25 employees
- 1988—Enters California markets to construct earthquake-resistant systems
for Marriott’s Residence Inns & Summerfield Suites
- 1994—Full-time staffing surpasses 50 employees
- 1995—Selected to construct mechanical and process piping systems for Disney’s
Linen Facility, world’s largest linen facility and the largest industrial project
for company to date
- 1996—Awarded Disney Florida Beach Resort, Vero Beach, FL
- 2003—Awarded $2.3 million contract for Stryker Medical, largest industrial
project for company to date
- 2005—West Michigan Plumbing & Heating is Renamed Contractors Mechanical
- 2006—Contractors Mechanical awarded company’s largest single contract— $4.8
million project for Gull School District
- 2007—Contractors Mechanical expands into new markets with West Virginia, Florida, and Mississippi projects
