West Michigan Plumbing and Heating Renamed Contractors Mechanical
 Changing our name is the “last thing” we wanted to do. And quite literally it is the last, or perhaps better said, the latest change we’ve made. Our company has changed so much over our nearly 25 years in business that this was more than something we wanted to do, it was something we needed to do. So “at last,” we’ve renamed our company Contractors Mechanical.
 Let’s face it! Those who know us well know what we do. But those who don’t—still didn’t after hearing the old name. “Plumbing and Heating” just doesn’t adequately communicate our industrial, commercial, and multi-unit mechanical contractor capabilities. Some people, even some we’ve worked with in one segment are surprised when they learn about the size, scope, and diversity of the projects we’re contracted for in other markets we serve. And “West Michigan” was just too limiting when we entered other geographic markets statewide and especially regionally on the East Coast, West Coast, in the Southeast, and other parts of the country.
 We just finished hydronic, HVAC, and process piping systems for a massive new Stryker Medical manufacturing facility in the Kalamazoo area. We’re working on a high school expansion in South Haven and preparing to start on a new one for the Gull Lake School District.
We’re also “Up North” in several communities, including Petoskey, Gaylord, and Sault Ste. Marie working on multi-unit projects. Our industrial and commercial expertise has taken us as far south as Orlando to work on Disney’s linen facility. And our experience in multi-unit construction has led us as far as the West Coast to build in compliance with earthquake-resistant codes for Summerfield Suites and Marriott. So we do get around!
Of course, we agonized over the name change. There’s a lot of equity and heritage in the old name. So while it really was the last thing we wanted to do, it became clearer and clearer we had to do it. The old name just didn’t do our company justice. Our years of design-build, design-assist, and fast-track construction experience with plumbing, heating, hydronics, and HVAC mechanical systems and with medical gas and process piping systems has taken us to another level. We bring value engineering to projects and have developed proprietary pre-construction and project triangulation processes that are so thorough and unique, we’ve branded and trademarked them. Our PROview™ Plan Analysis and CM3™ Project Triangulation are two of several processes that distinguish our service.
We know, renaming our company is a big deal to us, but we’ll keep it in perspective, realizing that it might not seem as enormous to you. That’s perfect. That is how we’d like it to be. We think that other than a name and new look, the change will be pretty seamless. We’re the same company and the same people providing the same quality workmanship that has earned your trust and respect. We’re providing the same services and perhaps even doing some other work you didn’t even know we do. Renaming the company was just the “last thing” we needed to do to catch up with who we are, what we do, and where we go.
Our transition to Contractors Mechanical began in November. So when our bid submissions come in with the new name, it really is us. And when our trucks and trailers roll up to your jobsite with the distinctive, stylized red and blue flame logo, let us in! Our new website is up and live.
